| Survival Pack Many folks will need a
weapon, a device or some gear of sorts to protect ourselves. It's a good
prepackaged survival packs' are being sold openly by shops both online
and off.
You never can say when you'll need a survival pack And last, you need to
face the likelihood that it can happen to you, whatever 'it' is. In my
more than 25 years working in public safety, I know this is where folks
struggle the most. Why? As we mostly say that 'it' will happen to
someone else. Only by revolutionizing how we think are we able to then
begin to change how we act, which takes us to my second recommendation.
Take a weekend morning, schedule a family meeting and walk thru a
typical 'day-in-the-life-of-our-family', with one exception - you do not
have any power, no infrastructure, and no help.
You won't go to the store, can't use your car, no power in the house, no
plumbing, and definitely no iPod. You may quickly discover that you are
encircled just about from the instant you wake up. You can't get money
as the ATM's have no power. You have no idea what's occurring around you
because you do not have any means to get stories. If you are up north,
you are likely cold ; down south, hot.
And so on Now, multiply that one 'day in the life of our family' by 30.
By walking through a standard day, you quickly realize you want to load
up on supplies in three main classes : Food & Water ; Medical & Hygiene
; Protection & Self Sufficiency. Others, like me, use massive capacity
vessels for rainwater collection and water storage. You decide what
works best for you and your home, and prepare in an appropriate way.
Making a Culture of Survival in your house.
In these unusual times that we reside in, it simply is reasonable to
supply your folks with the tools, data and supplies to weather the
approaching typhoons. For instance, in a survival kit, you can find
items you will probably never consider taking with you, for example fish
hooks, flint or brushwood, a poncho, mosquito net, hat, water filter and
a stitching kit. These three classes should represent your family's
Disaster Survival pack, and if adequately stocked, will give you the
obligatory supplies and equipment to weather almost any interruption.
These bars store well and go a great distance in an infrastructure
interruption. For water, you want to plan on 2 gallons a day for each
person;.
